From the Sidelines

For the last few weeks, Casey has been participating in the middle school's track & field team and has absolutely loved it. I'm not sure where she gets this very sporty side of herself from (not from me:) but she just loves being part of a team and competing. They practice every day after school for 2 hours, and even then she'll come home and join in the neighborhood kickball game or jump on the trampoline - lots of energy! Every Thursday, the team participates in meets with other middle schools and we've really enjoyed watching her run. Her favorite event is sprinting - the 100, 200 or relays. She's great at running really fast for short distances. This summer, we'll see if she takes up some long distance running in her free time. Track will go through the end of May and then soccer begins. Who knew we'd have this athlete on our hands??

In the 100 meter dash - I almost missed her in the frame! She's on the far right and won this heat.

In the 200 - she's again on the far right - and came in third!
